Our NHS family strives to put our school motto into action every day: “Northshore High: a challenging and caring community encouraging lifelong learning for all students." The faculty and staff at NHS prides itself on providing a challenging academic environment. For the third time in the last four years, Northshore High boasts the highest number of National Merit Semifinalists of traditional public school in the state of Louisiana. In addition to preparing our students to enter four-year colleges, NHS students earn numerous certifications in areas such as computer programming, customer service, OSHA, ServSafe, and many more, which enables them to be career ready upon graduation. Other programs, like the award-winning NHS AG department that boasts the largest chapter of Future Farmers of America in Louisiana, and the culinary department, helps prepare students for careers in agriculture and culinary arts. Northshore High provides a climate which encourages students to give back to their community. The caring students of NHS, through the JROTC program, have formed a partnership with our feeder school to help tutor students who are struggling academically. Students from NHS are also involved with the award-winning Robotics team – who host an Astro Camp for elementary students. These activities afford opportunities to spark an interest in learning that will last a lifetime. As an “A” rated school, the faculty of NHS is proud to serve its students and community. At NHS, our focus is on students: their individualism, their passions, and their academic, social, and emotional growth, as well as their amazing contributions to the Panther family. We are beyond grateful to our Northshore community partners for your continued support of our academic, athletics, and extracurricular programs. Our growth in and out of the classroom is a direct result of our passion to embrace and address the challenges in our learning community.
